About this program

BoomStartup EdTech 2017 is a startup accelerator program, purpose built for education technology startups. Technology driven innovations are changing the face of education – making it more engaging, more personal, more relevant. Our companies will help drive and accelerate this disruption and transformation. Ideal candidates for this program will have innovative ideas that will help to lead this shift, and have the potential to make a large impact in the education community.

We surround our startup companies with BoomStartup’s extensive mentor network of investors, serial entrepreneurs, subject matter experts, and EdTech advisors, which include power hitters from big names in education, such as Pearson, HMH, Instructure, Mastery Connect, and Western Governors University. At the end of the program, startups pitch to an extensive pool of venture capitalists and angel investors to raise capital. Prior EdTech companies have raised between $600,000 – $1 million by the end of the program. BoomStartup has helped its companies raise over $25 million in seed capital.

Utilizing our BoomStartup Online platform, founders can work at their own pace to accelerate their business for up-to 52 weeks, which will help them find an optimal business model, create a minimal viable product that is revenue-ready, execute into revenue generation, and make connections to customers and investors. Startup companies receive up-to $100k seed investment, office space, and over $750k of services, such as hosting, marketing, legal, and financial services.

BoomStartup is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, at Impact Hub. Salt Lake City has a thriving startup scene – in fact, it was named number 11 in “The 25 Best U.S. Cities for Tech Startups,” published by Entrepreneur magazine. Utah is home to a healthy ecosystem of successful EdTech companies, including Pluralsight, Instructure, Mastery ConnectSchool Improvement Network, Kimono, and Degreed.
