Alabama independent adding online ordering using ShopHero

Super Foods, an independent operator in southwest Alabama, has selected ShopHero to power its online grocery program, which is scheduled to begin in mid-August, according to the e-commerce provider.

ShopHero, Provo, Utah, works with approximately 20 independent operators in 13 states.

Super Foods, Luverne, Ala., operates three stores — a conventional store in Greenville, Ala., and cost-plus stores in Luverne and Evergreen, Ala. The online program will be available at all locations.

According to Lillian Wilson, the retailer’s HR director, “Our customers have been asking for online ordering, and we’re pleased to be able to give it to them.”

According to ShopHero, the online offering will make available Super Foods’ entire inventory, with online prices that will always match in-store prices and a choice of curbside pickup or home delivery for what it called “a small fee.”

ShopHero said it is also building a mobile shopping app that will sync with online ordering, including a built-in barcode scanner that will let shoppers scan any item to add instantly to their shopping cart.

ShopHero Launches Two New Retailer E-commerce Sites

Skinner Grocery & Market and Stewart’s Marketplace both launched new online shopping websites provided by ShopHero, an e-commerce service provider based in Provo, Utah.

Skinner’s allows customers to shop the entire inventory of the store, including its famous fresh meats, for delivery the same day. The new site integrates with the store’s existing website, allowing Skinner’s to leverage its existing relationships and investments.

“We looked at other e-commerce providers and were concerned with the co-branding model,” said Brant Brantley, owner of the Longview, Texas store. “We wanted our customers, their shopping habits and all of that data to remain on our site.”

ShopHero provides the personal shoppers to pick and deliver the orders to Skinner’s customers. The new personal shoppers were hired by ShopHero and trained within four weeks, according to Brantley.

“After just one week of promoting this on Facebook, we received tremendous feedback and people are very excited,” Brantley added.

Stewart’s Marketplace is the first store in northeast Utah to offer online grocery shopping and serves not only customers in its town of Roosevelt but also customers thirty miles in either direction from Duchesne to Vernal, Utah. Customers can pick up in-store or have their groceries delivered and can place orders from their desktop computer, phone or tablet.

ShopHero’s technology and service allows Stewart’s to ensure efficient order picking and same-day delivery.

Cleverywhere Emerges from the Exclusive BoomStartup EdTech Accelerator to Establish Dual Headquarters in New York and Utah and Offers a Free Summer Game

26 July 2016 | By: Karen Lippe

NEW YORK & SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cleverywhere, a next generation educational interactive gaming company to inspire K-12 students, completed the elite BoomStartup Accelerator that mentors the most promising EdTech companies in the nation. Cleverywhere’s role-play adventure games, which have been in development for more than a year, reside on a kid-inspired, teacher-influenced gaming platform to engage students both in and out of the classroom while improving standardized test scores, and above all, having fun while learning. Parents can participate too by tracking their child’s progress. Cleverywhere is offering its first kid-tested app for students to enhance math and vocabulary skills during the summer learning bridge.

Selected out of hundreds of candidates, Cleverywhere and eight cohort companies were immersed in a 12-week intensive business mentoring program at BoomStartup. Each company received $20,000 in seed capital, $100,000 worth of business services along with daily one-on-one mentoring.

“The BoomStartup Accelerator offered Cleverywhere a special opportunity to intensely analyze my company and refine our vision and product strategy,” said Clancy Marshall, CEO and founder of Cleverywhere. “Our goal is to provide games accessible by any student in every corner of the nation. Beginning today, we are offering ThemePark to students. In addition, we will complete the deployment of ThemePark in several school districts in New Jersey and California for the 2016-2017 school year.”

“Cleverywhere is one of our leading startups and we expect the company’s products to be embraced by schools nationwide,” said Sumner Douglas, Managing Director at BoomStartup. “Clancy and her team are ready for the challenge of launching and growing a business with their goal of making learning fun using the enticing world of gaming to improve and enhance the education of students around the country.”

Cleverywhere’s ThemePark is an interactive challenge game in a charming, but impactful pixel-style that enables students to create an avatar to fight monsters, earn a pet, and rebuild an old, dilapidated theme park to its original glory to win the game.
