Know your business, tell your story well. Unit Economics is foundational to both!
Founders having a compelling vision for a product or service is insufficient in raising capital. It must be accompanied with a confident and deep understanding of the unit economics. Knowing the relationships between revenue, costs, margin and cash at each stage of the company’s development, is vital. That’s what understanding the unit economics helps you do.
The Demystifying Unit Economics sprint will provide the fundamental knowledge and the implications on control and planning when it comes to sales and financial planning.
Who should attend this cohort?
Founders and first-time CEOs and CFOs who have the responsibility of leading the fundraising activity. These people should have full access to the current financials and also to the sales projections/forecasts. We encourage startups to bring the core executives, participating in this sprint as a team. It is helpful if participants have a comparison/competitive products identified including their pricing and cost information.
Homework and Outcome
Founders who take Demystifying Unit Economics will define the economic UNIT for their business.
They will learn the relationships between revenue, costs (fixed and variable), and margins. This allows founders to learn the basics of the business model and not have to rely totally on the finance function.
One doesn’t need an MBA to be able to speak confidently about the business’s economic model. The homework will help you build your business forecasts and projections tied to key milestones.
The outcome will be immense confidence when speaking to investors on the capital needed and the drivers behind the ask.

RiseUp sprints are week-long engagements, entirely focused on helping you solve your most head-scratching business problems.
Sprints are led by experts who identify, address, and solve similar issues so frequently, they can quickly understand the source of your problems and offer advice as you create a smart plan that will help your business rise. Each sprint is attended by a hand-picked cohort of founders facing similar challenges, who learn from the expert leading the sprint and each other.
This isn’t like taking a class to learn the basics of running a business. RiseUp sprints drill down into specialized topics, asking “what’s broken?” in your business model, product, organization or execution. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and be assigned (and complete) homework, while diving deeply into what’s holding back your business. Rise Experts are there to guide you, but they aren’t going to do your job for you. It’s up to you to lead your company to growth as you hypothesize better outcomes and create and execute your plan.
Sprint to the top with RiseUp.
